Sustainability at Opintola

Sustainability has been an important part of our way of working from the beginning. For example, we have always sorted our waste and reused textiles. In 2022, we had the opportunity to join a group project to systematically develop our responsibility work. Inspired by this, we started the work and on July 12, 2023, we were awarded the Ecokompass environmental system certificate. The next goal is the Sustainable Travel Finland label, which we will complete during spring 2025. And which we were awarded on February 17, 2025.

 

 

Our environmental promise:

"We at Opintola B&B are committed to working towards more sustainable tourism. We have introduced an environmental program through the Ecokompassi environmental system, with which we will systematically continue to develop our operations to be more responsible and sustainable.

 

We want to reduce the environmental impact of tourism through our own activities. We have started by switching to low-emission energy, sorting the waste we produce, and repairing and repurposing the textiles we use instead of buying new ones. We also support our customers' opportunities to sort their waste when visiting us. It is important to work together."
